Dr. Nyachanchu is a chartered banker with over 30 years’ wide experience in financial services, cutting across business and consumer banking. He has held senior management roles in lending, credit administration and debt recovery at a KCB Bank Kenya. As part of his successes, he was tasked with (and achieved) excellent quality loan book for the whole bank for many years.
He trained and regularly upskilled all credit staff across the over 180 branches network in the group and regularly carried out credit process reviews. He spearheaded a rollout of a robust lending system for the bank and an on-line (corporate and retail) loans processing system across all its East Africa network and managed a group-wide credit turnaround time (TAT) initiative that led to the centralization of credit processes, documentation and loan disbursements. In the industry, he has facilitated and participated in training members and students of the Kenya Institute of Bankers (KIB) as a tutor and examiner specializing in lending.
Dr. Nyachanchu is a consultant with credentials and experience not only in corporate, retail and consumer lending, but also in strategic management, leadership and organizational behaviour. He holds a Doctorate degree and a Master of Business Administration in Strategic Management from Moi University, and a BSc in Financial Services from the University of Manchester’s Institute of Science & Technology. He is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers (ACIB) of United Kingdom and a member of the Certified Secretaries of Kenya (CPS-K). He has published scholarly work on financial services’ sustainability agenda, leadership behaviour, dynamic capabilities and organizational performance.
